Ruffian Fall/Winter 2012 Collection
The tailored woman made a triumphant return to the catwalk thanks to the house of Ruffian. The design duo presented a modern collection filled with traditional expert tailoring and classic silhouettes. The palate was a playful mix of familiar neutrals and plaids with surprising pops of scarlet and the on trend electric blue. Models strut the runway in delicate blouses menswear inspired suiting, rich wools and delicate silk.
One of our favorite looks of the collection was this electric blue belted shift. The simple neckline and tailored construction work well for any figure the adorable two-tone ankle strap pumps add a retro twist.
Outerwear is always a major concern during the fall, bulky coats are never flattering. Ruffian provides chic alternatives that flatter the body and keep out the cold.
We adored this cropped jacket and high-waisted skirt combo.
Ruffian’s looks are reminiscent of a bygone era, when denim was only for gardening, tennis shoes were only work on the court and dressing like a lady wasn’t a chore but a luxury and benefit of womanhood. You can view the spring 2012 collection on their website at www.ruffian.com

The Box at Lincoln Center transformed to a dimly lit moody forest for the marvelous presentation of Rochambeau Fall 2012 collection, on February 15th.

French designer duo, Laurence Chandler and Joshua Cooper showed the sensitive beauty of layering in their avant-garde outfits in their collection. The mix of relaxed silhouettes and tailored suites appeals to the wide range of sartorial taste that the fashion-savvy attendee has. Displaying the brand’s originality was achieved impeccably through their specific construction of the garments. Also the exclusive draping adds the character to this collection. —See their collarless jacket, uniquely designed outerwear, collapsed waist Harlem pants and more. Shades of black emphasize the combination of the different fabrications, such as rich furs, weathered skins, knits and warm wools. And deep garnet gave a sensational accent to the monochromatic color pallet. Adding more edge is their gloves and notable hat, which will be the must haves during the next season. Finding more details in leather usage, including the playful fringes and the eye-catching accessories.

This men’s wear label showed their keen modern austerity meritoriously and successfully. We can’t wait to see Rochambeau’s next show!

“On Sunday, I’ll be presenting my first collection at Lincoln Center, the pinnacle of creativity where artists from all over the world show off the spectacular work they do. Thinking back to when I was a little girl growing up in Romania designing dresses for my dolls, it’s so surreal to think that I am now one of those artists!” Lorena Sarbu writes in her blog.
