Entertainers 4 Education Alliance received a proclamation from Mayor Michael R Bloomberg recognizing the organization for its contributions to the youth of New York City. Excerpts from the proclamation reads: “Since it was founded the Entertainers 4 Education Alliance has done tremendous work empowering our city’s young people to stay in school and pursue a college education. To awarding grants to public school students to help them pay for college to funding after school programs to hosting empowerment seminars and developing public service announcements Entertainers 4 Education Alliance has given so many students the motivation and support to excel in high school and beyond. That’s why our city is so delighted to join the organization in celebrating the first annual I WILL GRADUATE DAY.”
GFS Fifth Annual Spring Benefit Dinner

On June 15th, Ghetto Film School celebrated their student filmmakers and their outstanding achievements with a benefit dinner at the ultra posh eatery Park Café located in the Time Warner Center. GFS is a not-for-profit youth media organization that connects talented young people to artistic, educational and career opportunities in the world of film and video. The evening started with an wonderful silent auction consisting of a slew of must-have items, followed by the dinner and scholarship awards ceremony where CNN’s Anderson Cooper spoke to the audience about the importance of GFS and their students. Other attendees included NBA player Steve Nash and actress Shohreh Aghdashloo.

Popular makeup brand POP Beauty co-hosted a fashion week party with Fashion Indie. The party was held at Citrine, one of New York City’s premier nightclubs located in the heart of Chelsea. DJ Josh Madden provided the music which consisted of today’s latest hits and POP Beauty founder Sara Strand performed with her live band, making for the perfect setting.
To keep with the “POP” theme; Pop chips and Pop rocks were available for guest to enjoy. The bar provided “Pop-tails” courtesy of Corzo tequila, Remy Martin cognac, 42Below vodka, and Cointreau Noir. What’s a fashion party without freebies??? Guest were given free POP Beauty makeup, including their popular lip gloss.

On Location: Sony Style VAIO Fashion Week Event

Last night in NYC, Sony and Paper Magazine threw a big bash to celebrate Fashion Week and the world’s lightest 8 inch Notebook, the Sony Vaio Lifestyle PC. The night featured an opportunities to meet with Paper Mag’s Fashion Week Bloggers and designers as they reveal their custom window displays. DJ Benajmin Cho provided the music. Our favorite part of the evening was The Sony VAIO Mannequins (see a video of them in action below). They walked around the Sony Style Store posing with the stylish notebooks, sometimes in sync. It was very entertaining to watch and even more hilarious to watch the guest try their hardest to make them laugh. Some succeed, many failed. The Mannequins were dressed by Ralph Pucci.
