Puma Unveils Italy Home and Away Team Kit for 2010

One of our favorite brands, PUMA launched Italy’s 2010 uniform with a fun event held at posh eatery Trattoria Cinque (which JSD highly recommends) in NYC. The new kits are part of PUMA’s PowerCat 1.10 collection, including the statement football boot the PowerCat 1.10. Staying true to tradition, the colors of the home kit is Italy’s classic azzurro blue with white details. The away kit is the traditional white with blue and gold details. The home shirt features a unique body fit and ‘battle skin’ graphic, designed specifically for Italy and their quest for a fifth World Cup title. Beauty Cares Celebration To Break The Cycle of Domestic Violence Event

Beauty Cares is a nonprofit organization which provides support and empowerment to domestic violence victims. Over the past two years, the organization has hosted it’s Breakthrough Experience event. This extravagant event provides victims with top notch makeover services, massages, and life coaching to women living at a safe house. Former Model, Aryn Quinn saw her mother suffer the devastating effects of domestic violence, which later lead to the former model starting Beauty Cares.

MBFW | The ARISE African Collective Fashion Show: Part III

The ARISE African Collective Fashion show encompassed great cultural passion for Africa. Designers from, Tanzania, South Africa, and Nigeria created a glimpse of their own Africa, through brilliant collections. Each showcasing indigenous fabric, inspiration and of course models; truly made this show quite spectacular. Colors, shapes, and individual aesthetic separated the series of collections, into three themes, First Light, Noon and Midnight. The production resembled a stone pathway leading to the stars, ultimately expressing the naturalistic grandeur; that is Africa! Read more

MBFW | Leifsdottir Fall/Winter 2010

Prince George Ballroom on Manhattan’s east side was the place to be on February 18th 2010. It was here that Leifsdottir presented “The Catalonia Affair” a collection of flirty perfection for Fall 2010/11. The room was packed with photographers, buyers and well wishers each vying for space in their attempts to land the perfect shot. Which was an easy feat as models were within arms reach on a tiny stage. The models pranced and flirted upon the stage in a rotating dance of sophisticated and instantly wearable pieces. The line which made its debut in 2008, is the brain child of Finland designer Johanna Uurasjarvi. As is the signature element with this designer each piece was crafted with antique details and a flirty silhouette. Read more
