Lord & Taylor Gets a Facelift + Ciara and Jay Sean Interview [Video]

Lord & Taylor culminated a year long precess of extreme renovations with a store wide party and shopping event. The nearly old flagship opened its doors to journalists, bloggers shoppers and of course celebs for a red carpet night of refreshments music and style. The $20 million renovation project included a large crystal chandelier which hangs on the main floor. An amazing piece that catches light and glows magnificently in the brighter airy space. Lovely models dressed as roses and atop stilts wandered through the fresh space as acrobats twirled suspended from the high ceiling. The new Lord and Taylor also has a bridal departments and updated men’s department and a revamped cosmetics department complete with state of the art lighting which ensures the colors you try on will be the shade you see outside. Though every floor was equipped with wandering models, floating edibles and refreshments, we spent the bulk of the evening on the 10th floor in VH1 Lounge.

Several DJs spun hit after hit as guests munched on sliders and other appetizers washing them down with Stella Artois. The 10th floor was the place to be for celebrity sightings and interviews. The evening’s celebs included Darryl Mack of Iconic Hip hop Group Run DMC as well as Denise Richards and R&B Sensation Ciara. This was also a big night for the singer as she announced the 2011 Ambassador Class of  VH1′s Save The Music Foundation. Ciara‘s fellow ambassadors include Glee star Amber Riley and John Mayer. Established in 1997 the foundation’s goal is to provide children in disadvantaged public  schools with music programs as well as raise awareness on the importance of the arts in education. We at JSD were fortunate enough to snag an interview with the lovely songstress, who was the picture of perfection in a figure flattering red dress and sky high leopard pumps.
