The Makeup Show NYC – 5 Years and Going Strong!

The Make Up Show celebrated 5 beauty filled years this past weekend at the Metropolitan Pavilion in NYC. A dizzying array of exhibitors hawked their wares to the ravenous masses at this 2 day event. I thought I’d show up on a lazy Sunday and have a leisurely stroll through the event, sampling eye shadows and blushes to my hearts content but I was dead wrong. This place was packed!! There were people everywhere but it was a controlled chaos, and surprisingly well organized. Celebrity makeup and tools at insanely discounted prices could bring out the beast in any make-up savvy fashionista. This place was a treasure trove of innovative products and daring new color palettes. I was the proverbial kid in a candy store and no cash was no problem most vendors happily accepted credit cards, Yay!! Here is a list our favorite vendors and products from the show:
Mehron - Though usually a theatrical makeup company Mehron launched its new Celebro’ Pro line of foundation at the event. The line celebrates all hues and features palettes from every skin tone. From Cate Blanchett to Alex Wek and all hues in between.

FACE Atelier - A celebrity endorsed line who served as the makeup sponsor for Madonna’s worldwide tour Confessions tour, brought its new line especially designed for women of color. They even have unique new product that allows you to customize your foundation shade for cooler or warmer tones.
RCK - Makeup artist Joanna Schlip presented her RCK (Red Carper Kolour) Glow. This body makeup adds a soft bronze like shimmer to dull pale skin. And the best part is it doesn’t come off until you wash it off. No need to worry about leaving a trail of glitter wherever you touch the silicone base keeps it on you and no one else! Available in 3 shades you may also find this on QVC or QVC.com

Mai Couture – An innovative company whose Bronzing Oil Blotting Papier is a step in the right direction. Their product allows you to create a great look in a hurry perfect for the girl on the go. A tiny little book filled with colored bits of paper that you rub across your skin and toss, what could be simpler?

DINAIR - Airbrush makeup company founded in 1981 offered free sampling to passers by as well as brochures on becoming a certified Airbrush Artist. They specialize in covering tattoos, especially form special event weddings etc…

Crystal Wright Live – We were fortunate to meet the friendly and instantly lovable Crystal, whose Workshop DVD and Career Guide are absolute must haves for anyone interested in working in the beauty/fashion industry.

Fluhme – Don’t just cover your flaws remove them. Fluhme is not just about the surface they also feature products to improve the overall appearance of your skin. Not only can u buy Fluhme you can sell it too!
MakeUpMania - A local company with a great website and some of the coolest palettes on the planet great colors and a super cute brush kit that even a makeup novice can appreciate. Ok who am I kidding I loved the little pink feather duster that came with the brushes so I had to have it.

Arbonne – Products based on botanicals and free of pollutants. A noble concept developed by this swiss this company launched is newest line RE9 Advanced at the event. Dedicated to restoring natural beauty their products are also eco-friendly. If that sounds like the company tour the website and you too can be apart of the Arbonne family
