Swatch has expanded its popular Swatch & Art Collection with new watches by contemporary artists and designers working in a broad range styles. The new Swatch Art Specials enhance and continue the celebrated relationship between Swatch and Art. Launched at the Art Special at the Pompidou Centre, the collection sparked a delightful series of joint productions with innovative and artists. 25 years later, world renowned artists such as film director Pedro Almodovar, French street painter and rapper Grems, New York City’s “urban primitivist” Billy The Artist” painter, Manish Arora and more have collaborated to create artistic wristwear for this exclusive collection.

“Into Each Other”: Framed in white light, young lovers hold each other close. Enki Bilal presents a portrait in a white frame fashioned of a white silicone strap and loop, solid white plastic buckle and solid white plastic case. An embossed white lizard approaches the dial from the 6 o’clock side of the strap. Within the picture frame are Bilal’s hero and heroine, drawn in graphite and pastel blues with spare highlighting in red. These characters are silent, trouble on their minds. Hand-drawn Arabic numerals in red indicate 3, 9 and 12 o’clock; 6 o’clock is spelled out in letters: six. A mysterious and fascinating way to tell a tale. Polished silver hour and minute hands and a slim dark blue central seconds hand mark the time. Available in a limited edition quantities, Into Each Other is presented in a special sleeve designed, like this Swatch Art Special watch, by the artist himself.

“Too Many Memories”: Darkly atmospheric, full of mystery and silence, this fascinating Swatch Art Special from Enki Bilal has a matte black silicone strap and loop with a solid black plastic buckle. On the six o’clock side of the strap, an embossed black lizard crawls toward the dial. The case in solid matte black plastic frames a portrait drawn in pencil of a young woman gazing directly at the viewer. Her long, slim fingers frame a troubled face whose dark brown eyes hold the secrets of her past and present. A pale blue headscarf over dark eyebrows and blue lips complete this haunting portrait of a beautiful, deeply mysterious woman. In the absence of all numerals and indexes, elegant white hour and minute hands and a slim silver seconds hand mark the time. Enki Bilal’s Too Many Memories is presented in a special sleeve.
