Plans Unveiled for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center

IMG announced plans for its first season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park at a fashion industry briefing supported by The City of New York, Lincoln Center and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). The move to Lincoln Center has allowed IMG Fashion to unveil event upgrades (which we have detailed below)

Upgraded Venues

Gracious Lobby
o Main Lobby separation from guest holding areas/lines
o More seating areas and useable work spaces for guests
o Modernized digital signage
o Free flowing sponsorship areas with expanded services for guests
o Streamlined guest management onsite

The Theatre (969 Designer Seating)
o Larger backstage area
o New upstage video wall
o Larger, more robust scenic truss

The Stage (740 Designer Seating)
o Modernized Stadium Seating
o Bench Seating with customizable cushions on seating risers
o White walls with gray carpet

The Studio (396 Designer Seating)
o New gray interior décor
o Larger seating capacity
o Longer and wider runway
o Seating raked higher for better sightline, comparable with larger venues
o Finished and lined interior walls
o Solid proscenium wall

The Box Presentation Space (Capacity for 125 people)
o Industry demand for more flexible ‘4th Venue’
o Space for live and/or still life presentations and industry activities
o Black interior décor

The Courtyard (Outdoor Garden)
o Glass walled, formal tree filled courtyard
o Informal presentations

•Expanded designer centric website
•Updated Registration and Credentialing System
•New designer seating program
•Synchronized credentialing and designer seating systems
•Partnership with industry leader Fashion GPS

Press Room and Facilities for Media
•Additional work areas for print and online media
•Improved electronic press handling and seating system
•Expanded press check in and credentialing facilities
•Press materials available for download (electronic press room)

•Campus provides multiple venues for presentations, additional shows and other industry
activities

West Side Corridor Transportation
•Convenient to West Side transportation hubs as well as Seventh Avenue Subway Line
(weather sheltered access to Lincoln Center stop on Subway line)

uptown and downtown corridors
•Improved facilities for transportation handling and inclement weather, car service pick up
and drop off, town car waiting areas and onsite parking

2010 Parsons Fashion Benefit

New York-based singer/songwriter, Dion Roy, performed live on a boat cruise on Friday evening (April 23) with Ryan Cabrera (who sources tell us recently reunited with his reality tv girlfriend, Audrina Patridge). Over 200 passengers boarded the ship which left from the East River and toured Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty as the two artists did what they do best for their screaming fans. Read more
