Beauty Cares is a nonprofit organization which provides support and empowerment to domestic violence victims. Over the past two years, the organization has hosted it’s Breakthrough Experience event. This extravagant event provides victims with top notch makeover services, massages, and life coaching to women living at a safe house. Former Model, Aryn Quinn saw her mother suffer the devastating effects of domestic violence, which later lead to the former model starting Beauty Cares.

John Simon Daily had the pleasure of attending the charity benefit event, held at a private loft space in New York City’s Union Square. Guests enjoy a live auction and awards ceremony, while dining on delicious treats by Juicy Catering and cocktails. We witnessed first hand how much Beauty Cares meant to Aryn Quinn as she spoke from the heart to guests about the organization and the Breakthrough Experience:

Aryn Quinn later presented awards to Violy McCausland, President and CEO of VMS Associates and Dr. Andrew Jacono, a plastic surgeon who performs countless pro-bono reconstructive surgeries on survivors of domestic violence. We applaud Quinn for honoring such talent, they definitely deserved the honors. Here are a few highlights from those special moments.

We spotted make up artist Darci Louise whom we just interviewed at Christian Siriano Fall 2010 Fashion Show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Louise was one of many make up artist volunteering their time to pamper female victims earlier in the day. Such a sweetheart.

John Simon Daily spoke with Beauty Cares founder Aryn Quinn about the organization, amongst other things:

Make Under – Beauty Cares New Campaign

Make Under was created to educate women and teens about the dangerous misconception that “he doesn’t bruise me, so it isn’t domestic violence.”

If your partner puts you down, becomes physically aggressive (it starts with shoves), isolates you from your friends and family, and takes increasing control of your money and your life – these are classic steps leading down a long road of fear, sorry, and escalating violence – even death.
