What happens when you mix creative visionary Alia Ahmed-Yahia with aerodynamic fabrics and effervescent hues? The answer could only be “Loft‘s Summer 2010 collection by Ann Taylor”. This presentation of garments and accessories exhaled the breath of fresh summer air all women need this season. The collection not only exuded femininity and charm, but also resourcefulness.

Fashion Director Alia Ahmed-Yahia
“I wanted the presentation to reflect the message of versatility but remain very girly and feminine”, says Fashion Director Alia Ahmed-Yahia. She accomplished this feat flawlessly, by presenting three deliveries for summer, evoking thoughts of a wild excursion; that with fitting separates could be just as appropriate in your nearest boardroom meeting. Inspiration ranged in this presentation for Ahmed-Yahia.
An oceanic pillage seemed evident when viewing the brightly colored coral and floral shaped accessories. Surfacing to another delivery the colors grew a little softer with airy ruffles and lighter fabrics. The last delivery favored a safari expedition; full of fiery reds and tangerines paired with earth tone shorts and jackets, with a touch of animal print. I adored how gallantly color and print were used, allowing a touch of graceful eccentricity. A beautiful black and white broken stripped print dress belted with crinkled fuchsia scarf, embodied this very trait. Chiffon and cotton tops were accompanied with delicate soft pink, white, and lavender ruffles; allowing women to forever dress youthful, yet elegant. Dresses in all silhouettes, fabrics and colors opened up room for alternatives and options for our wardrobes. A sexy draped v-neck khaki jersey dress with grosgrain ribbon and cotton floor length maxi dress with olive, black and white floral detail , were just a couple of the pieces that caught my artful eye. Of course accessories helped pull all these pieces together. Necklaces draped around the neck decked out with antique beading, chiffon ties, precious stone placement, radically beautiful coloring, tribal references and so much more, brought the uniqueness out of these clothes and exchanged familiar with “Loft” exclusivity. Appreciation must be paid for such a well-executed presentation. I truly got the message of what “Loft” by Ann Taylor wanted to convey. Simply that; in these clothes any woman would feel empowered, beautiful and more than anything like a woman!

EDIT – 2/3/2010
With the help of Google I recently stumbled upon a very interesting article by Jenna of Jezebel.com. It is a great read however John Simon Daily never attends a event based on freebies, bribes, or a pay check. 99% of the time we are not aware. We have a entire section dedicated to FASHION for a reason. Why wouldn’t a online fashion publication attend a event of this caliber??? I also wanted to note that, unlike the other sites mentioned in the article, we took the time to interview the Fashion Director + produce some of the best images. Loft‘s president Gary Muto said it best, “We don’t incenticize the press…we would never do that” and John Simon Daily can confirm that statement. We are passionate about what we write and the content we produce. Most bloggers today produce websites to gain freebies but that is where we differ. There is tons of passion behind John Simon Daily.
We ask journalist/bloggers to do their research before making such outrageous + ridiculous claims.

two things..
i love that new collection
and…
ppl always have something to say…what the hell is jezebel anyways?
I agree, the collection is beautiful!
But please do tell me, who the hell is jezebel….
People have nothing better to do but talk,,,but are they actually working & living the fashion life…. NO!!!!
I’m mad at you for having to address bloggers who I have never even heard of before. much less giving them a link on your site. JSD you keep on doing what you are doing and let them gain notoriety on their own.
Thank you
as my friend Elliot Carlyle said “Nothing good ever came from Jezebel anyway and that’s from the bible” haha
Their article discredits their site.
